Truck ends up in icy swimming pool in East Wenatchee

EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. -- A driver lost control of a pickup truck on Tuesday morning and ended splashing down into a swimming pool.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the 16-year-old driver escaped from the truck, which was upside down, by removing a headrest and using its metal cars to break a window. He was taken to a hospital, but the Sheriff's Office doesn't know his condition.

Authorities got a report an an accident in the 2800 block of Beckenridge Drive at 9:46 a.m. The driver lost control of his pickup on ice in the 2900 block of North Baker. The truck went off the road, slid 100 feet down a hill and hit a retaining wall. The pickup flipped and landed in the swimming pool.
