Trash bin fire spreads to back of Everett strip mall
EVERETT, Wash. - A trash bin fire spread to the back of a strip mall in Everett on Wednesday morning, but quick action by firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading.
Crews responded to the blaze, in the 7600 block of Evergreen Way, at about 7 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire behind the building.
When they arrived on scene, they could see smoke and flames starting to spread to the back of the strip mall, which includes a Safeway grocery, Ichiban Teriyaki rstaurant and a Domino's Pizza. Electrical wires also were reported to be down at the scene.
Fire crews quickly moved the burning trash bin away from the building and hosed down the back of the strip mall to prevent flames from spreading.
The fire is now extinguished. No one was injured.
