The dangers of giving early morning rides to strange women
SEATTLE -- Sometimes chivalry can get you in trouble.
Two men were beaten and robbed after agreeing to give a ride to two women who showed up at their door early Monday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the two victims were hanging out at one of their South Park homes some time before 1:45 a.m. when two women knocked on the door asking for a ride to the Central District.
The victims later told officers they didn't know the women and had never seen them before but agreed to give them a ride anyway.
When the victims and the two women arrived at 14th Avenue and East Jefferson Street, there were three men and a woman waiting on the sidewalk for them, according to the report.
The victims told officers they got out of the car and were attacked without warning by everyone on the scene. According to the report, the group stole the victims' car registration, cellphones and $20 before driving off in a black vehicle.
The victims suffered some small cuts and scratches in the attack and had a nearby citizen call 911 for them.
Officers arrived and searched the area but were unable to find the attackers.
