Thanksgiving comes early for group of hearty volunteers

SEATTLE -- Thanksgiving came early for a group of hearty volunteers. The "Thursday bunch", as they call themselves, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity each week to help build homes and futures for people who would not be able to own a home any other way.

But this week, they put down their hammers for an early Thanksgiving celebration.

"The special moment of Thanksgiving is really giving a time to reflect and think about the impact you are making with these families," said Kirk Utzinger with Habitat for Humanity.

They enjoyed a full feast with turkey and all the fixings.

These volunteers are used to being the ones getting the thanks from people moving into their new homes.

"Basically said, 'This is the beginning of our new life. Without Habitat; without you guys, we would never be able to be where we are,' " said Alex Walker.

They're giving thanks a little early, but not a moment too soon.
