Teen girl dies following stabbing in Redmond

REDMOND, Wash. -- A 17-year-old girl has died after being stabbed in the chest by a man last Friday night in Redmond, according to the Redmond Police Department.

According to police, the victim was stabbed by an acquaintance, 25-year-old Daniel Haggart, around 10:50 p.m. in the 15700 block of Redmond Way.

According to, Haggart texted his 21-year-old girlfriend minutes before the attack, saying he was going to stab the next person he saw if didn't call him.

Haggart is being held in King County Jail for investigation of attempted murder, but that charge is likely to be amended after the death of the victim Wednesday.

Haggart has previous convictions for assault, theft and trafficking in stolen property.
