Person of interest gets away after SeaTac patrol car crashes
SEATAC, Wash. - A police car that was attempting to follow a person of interest collided with another car early Thursday in SeaTac, allowing the person of interest's car to get away.
The incident unfolded at about 1 a.m. on Military Road South near South 208th Street.
SeaTac officials say an officer spotted a car of interest that police had been looking for near a motel - but when the officer tried to make a quick turn to follow the suspect, the cruiser was hit by another car approaching from the opposite direction.
A woman driving the other car did not appear to be hurt, but was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
The vehicle of interest got away, and it is not even clear that the occupants of that car knew police were after them. Police did not say why they were pursuing it.
