Suspected Walmart purse snatcher arrested in Shelton

SHELTON, Wash. -- A suspected purse snatcher was arrested Thursday evening after fleeing a Shelton Walmart, according to the Shelton Police Department.

According to police, 25-year-old Russell Krumpols tried to grab the purse off a woman at the local Walmart. But, she put up a fight, and Krumpols ran off when witnesses came over to help.

Krumpols drove off before officers arrived, but witnesses were able to provide a vehicle description and license plate number, according to police.

Officers found the car at a gas station less than an hour later and arrested Krumpols, who was booked into Mason County Jail.

Police are looking into a possible connection between this attempted purse snatching and a purse snatching at a Shelton Safeway a week earlier.
