Suspect at large after deadly overnight shooting in Tacoma
TACOMA, Wash. - Police are investigating after a deadly shooting early Tuesday in Tacoma.
Officers and medics responded to the scene, in the 1400 block of 37th Street, at about 1:40 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about shots fired, said Loretta Cool of the Tacoma police.
A severely injured 38-year-old man was found on the porch of a home there with one or more gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, where doctors were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m. His name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
The man's death is considered a homicide, but so far police have not uncovered any good suspect information, Cool said. It is unknown at this time if the shooting was random or targeted.
The investigation continues.
