Suspect arrested in Ellensburg blow-dart attacks

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- An 18-year-old Tacoma resident suspected of shooting at least four people with blow darts Jan. 12 in Ellensburg was arrested Wednesday.

According to the Ellensburg Police Department, two of the four people hit with the darts while walking city streets went to the hospital for treatment, but detectives were able to get surveillance images of the suspected shooter's vehicle.

The investigation eventually led to Tacoma's Joseph Gillies, who was arrested Wednesday for investigation of assault.

Ellensburg detectives are working with the Pullman Police Department to determine if Gillies is also responsible for a series of similar blow-dart attacks there, according to police.
