Subway sandwich artist plain refuses to be robbed

SEATTLE -- Whether because they're a renegade with nothing left to lose or because they were just having one of those days working customer service, a Subway sandwich artist straight up refused to be robbed by a man with a gun Saturday night in Greenwood, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, a man wearing a mask over his face entered the sandwich shop in the 10400 block of Greenwood Avenue North shortly after 8 p.m. and -- in front of a number of customers -- demanded an employee put money in a bag.

The employee simply ignored the would-be robber, who reportedly pulled out a gun and doubled down on his request for money.

Unable to ignore the robber any further, the employee grabbed a large knife and chased him out of the store, according to police.

Officers arrived too late the find the man, who is suspected of robbing a Subway in Shoreline 45 minutes later.
