Student brings homemade device to Stadium High

TACOMA, Wash. -- A student brought what appeared to be a homemade explosive device to Stadium High School on Wednesday, prompting an evacuation.

School District spokeswoman Stacy Flores said the device was found about 9:30 a.m. All students and staff members were safely evacuated.

The evacuation order was lifted after police seized the device and took the student into custody.

The century-old school has about 2,000 students and is known for its castle-like architecture.
