State Trooper's cruiser hit during DUI traffic stop near Smokey Point
SMOKEY POINT, Wash. - A State Trooper's cruiser was struck during a DUI traffic stop near Smokey Point Thursday night.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. on Smokey Point Blvd. near 240th Street NE.
The State Patrol said the trooper had pulled over a driver for suspected DUI.
The trooper arrested the driver and was putting the driver in the backseat of the patrol car when the cruiser was struck.
Neither the trooper nor the driver were injured.
Arlington Police stopped the 83-year-old driver who struck the patrol car a short time later.
No word yet if she was cited.
