PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - The State Patrol is investigating after a stolen truck hauling a trailer with an excavator on it overturned on eastbound State Route 16 near Port Orchard Monday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 4:00 p.m. near State Route 160/Sedgewick Road.

Troopers said the Dodge Ram truck and the trailer with the excavator were both stolen.

Troopers said the driver then fled the scene in a red car.

The eastbound lanes of SR 16 were closed for just under two hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene.
