SPD seeks owners of a 'staggering amount' of stolen property
SEATTLE -- The Seattle Police Department found a "staggering amount" of stolen property in a pickup truck Sunday in the parking lot of a West Seattle Thriftway. Now, the department is hoping to find the owners of the recovered property.
In addition to the expected cash and jewelry, items waiting to be claimed include steak knives, a signed baseball, a nose-hair trimmer and a single basketball shoe.
According to police, the property was taken in burglaries and car prowls across Seattle and King County. And, there was so much of it that it took multiple officers hours to catalog and process it all.
