Snoqualmie home severely damaged in 4th of July fire

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. -- Nobody was injured, but a Snoqualmie home was severely damaged in a Fourth of July house fire.

An off duty firefighter called 911 after spotting a home on fire in the 6600 block of Fairway Avenue South at about 5:20 p.m., according to Joan Pliego with the Snoqualmie Fire Department.

About 35 firefighters from the Bellevue, Snoqualmie and Eastside fire departments arrived on scene moments later. The crews had the fire under control within an hour, but it had already caused serious damage to the home.

Pliego said the cause of the fire is not yet known, but it appears to have started on the roof.

Nobody was home at the time and there were no serious injuries. A firefighter was treated for a twisted knee, but he is expected to be fine.
