Sheriff: Wife arrested for shooting husband in back during fight
SEATTLE -- An apparently drunk wife shot her husband in the back through a closed garage door following an argument Saturday night in Thurston County, according to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the couple had an argument around 11:15 p.m., and the 50-year-old husband left the house in the 19000 block of Mellen Street Southwest and went into the garage.
The 57-year-old wife, not wanting the man to come back inside the house, grabbed a pistol and fired a single shot through the closed garage door, hitting her husband in the back, according to the Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived on the scene, the wife reportedly appeared to be drunk. She was arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail for investigation of domestic-violence assault.
The husband was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital, where he was in stable condition.
