Sheriff seeks public's help in solving deadly Skyway shooting

SEATTLE - The King County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in solving a Sunday night homicide in a Skyway neighborhood.

Several people called 911 at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday to report hearing a number of gunshots. When deputies arrived minutes later they found the victim, 30-year-old Leroy Henderson, dead in the street in the 12200 block of 68th Ave South.

Sgt. D.B. Gates of the King County Sheriff's Office says Henderson had been walking home from a nearby store when he was shot. So far, no witnesses to the shooting have been located.

Henderson was known to regularly walk in the Skyway area between his home and the Skyway Bowl, Gates said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward. Or they may call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 296.3311.

Henderson's family is also offering an additional $1,000 reward to what is available from Crime Stoppers.
