Sheriff: Ore. man stabs girlfriend's ex-husband at Christmas party
ALOHA, Ore. - A man stabbed his girlfriend's ex-husband during a fight at a Christmas party early Wednesday morning in Aloha, Ore., the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Diubel Navarro-Gonzalez of Portland after he drove away from the scene, according to Sgt. Bob Ray.
Deputies were called to a home in the 3900 block of SW Pinewood Way at around 12:30 a.m. A woman called to report that her boyfriend had stabbed her ex-husband at her house. Witnesses told deputies that Navarro-Gonzalez drove away in a white Ford Explorer.
Deputies and police officers were able to stop the SUV and arrest Navarro-Gonzalez in Beaverton, Ray said.
"Sheriff's deputies found a significant amount of evidence in the vehicle to connect Mr. Navarro-Gonzalez to the stabbing," Ray said in a news release.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition. Ray said the victim suffered "multiple upper body injuries." His name has not been released.
Navarro-Gonzalez was taken to the Washington County Jail on suspicion of felony assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $250,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
