Sheriff: Man's body recovered from Lewis River

WOODLAND, Wash. (AP) - The Clark County sheriff's office says the body of a man who apparently drowned has been recovered from the North Fork Lewis River in the Woodland, Washington, area.

Sgt. Fred Neiman says a boater called 911 late Tuesday afternoon to report a body in the water.

Divers recovered the man's body from about 10 feet of water. He was not wearing a life jacket.

Neiman says what appears to be the man's small fishing boat was found caught in some debris just upstream from the body.

The victim was not immediately identified.
