Sheriff: 23 pounds of cartel heroin seized, 8 arrested
SHORELINE, Wash. -- The Snohomish Regional Drug & Gang Task Force seized 23 pounds of heroin it believes is connected to the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel, as well as $550,000 in cash, six vehicles and one house, while serving search warrants last week in Shoreline, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the seized heroin is worth more than $1 million on the street.
"This latest seizure by our Task Force is a huge win for Snohomish County," Sheriff Ty Trenary said in a press release. "It's not the value of what was seized that is important; dangerous drugs were kept out of our communities."
In addition to the seizures, five men and three women were arrested: a 22-year-old man from California, a 30-year-old man from Everett, a 26-year-old woman and 27-year-old man from Shoreline, and a 28-year-old man and 29-year-old man from Lynnwood.
