Seattle home damaged in suspicious fire

SEATTLE -- A home in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle was damaged early Tuesday morning after a fire was started on its front porch, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, a resident in the 800 block of Northeast 72nd Street was awoken around 2 a.m. by smoke coming into his second-floor bedroom. He called 911, and firefighters arrived and quickly put out a fire on his porch.

The fire burned much of the victim's porch, as well as damaging his basement and attic. There was also some damage to the siding of a neighbor's home.

Police are investigating and hoping for more information.
