Robber to victim: 'Hey, bro, you're being robbed'
SEATTLE -- When compared to history's greatest villain lines ("No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die." "Ever danced with the Devil by the pale moonlight?" Etc.), this line from an alleged Seattle robber isn't even close: "Hey, bro, you're being robbed."
According to Seattle Police Department report, a man had just parked his car in Carkeek Park around 7 p.m. June 8 and was talking on his iPhone when another man walked up, uttered the above line and smacked him in the face with a pistol.
The victim gave the man his phone and backpack, and the man ran off down one of the park's trails. The victim briefly chased the man, yelling that his backpack only contained some work clothes, but eventually lost sight of him.
According to the report, the victim did find his work clothes along the trail before going home to call 911.
Officers responded and walked the trails around the park but were unable to find the robber or any of the victim's other belongings.
