Crews respond to brush fire in Mill Creek
MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Crews responded to a brush fire Friday afternoon near 132nd Street Southeast and 39th Avenue Southeast in Mill Creek.
132nd Street Southeast is currently closed eastbound between 39th Avenue Southeast and 44th Avenue Southeast, according to the Snohomish County Fire District 7.
The Fire District reports the fire was mainly a brush fire but extended into a fence line and threatened nearby construction and homes.
The fire also hit an abandoned building, according to the Fire District.
There fire is now controlled and crews are putting out hot spots, according to Heather Chadwick with the Fire District.
It is unclear at this time how many acres were burned or the cause of the fire.
Chadwick says a breeze made it difficult to determine what direction the fire was heading at one point.
No injuries were reported.
