Redmond husband, wife stabbed in domestic disturbance

REDMOND, Wash. - A husband and wife are hospitalized with stab wounds after a domestic disturbance and standoff Monday morning in Redmond, police said.

Officers responded to the scene, a residence in the 9600 block of 173rd Place NE, just before 4 a.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing.

A 66-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times in the neck was able to get to a neighbor's home for help. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The wife, who was suspected of stabbing him, refused to surrender and remained holed up inside the residence. Negotiators responded to the scene in an effort to convince her to come out.

At about 6:35 a.m., officers entered the residence and found the 54-year-old wife on the second floor with multiple knife wounds. She also was taken to Harborview.

The circumstances leading to the stabbings were not immediately available.
