When she opened it, Han allegedly bullied his way inside, punched her in the face and then stabbed her in the chest.
After taping the beaten and bloody woman to a chair, Han allegedly took $500 in cash and some jewelry before driving off in the victim's own car and leaving her to bleed to death.
But instead of giving up, the woman struggled and broke free from the chair.
She went to her neighbor's house and called 911. Medics rushed her to the hospital, where she had surgery to repair a collapsed lung, according to prosecutors.
The woman's car was found abandoned just three blocks from her house, but it took months for police to track down the alleged attacker.
During their investigation, detectives got a search warrant for Han's home, where they found the victim's credit cards, identification and jewelry box.
He was arrested last week and was charged Wednesday with assault, burglary and robbery. His bail was set at $500,0000.
