Portland mother arrested for using heroin with child in car
PORTLAND, Ore. - A police officer arrested a 27-year-old woman Friday that he saw injecting herself with heroin in a parked car while her child was in the backseat, the Portland Police Bureau said.
Adrianna Marie Vandehey was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and reckless endangerment.
The officer was alerted to what was going on just after 1 p.m. when a citizen flagged the officer down near Southwest 4th Avenue and Harrison Street, police said.
Vandehey's car was nearby.
The child was taken into protective custody and then placed into the custody of other family members. Police said the child was in good health.
Vandehey was taken to the Multnomah County Jail. Her arraignment is Monday, July 21.
