Police: Woman walking with children sexually assaulted by jogger
GIG HARBOR, Wash. -- A woman walking with her children on the Cushman Trail Thursday afternoon was sexually assaulted by a jogger, who is still on the loose, according to the Gig Harbor Police Department.
According to police, the victim was on the trail between Olympic Drive and 14th Avenue around noon when she was passed twice by an unknown man.
The man approached her from behind for a third time, at which point he grabbed her and fondled her before running off, according to police.
The jogger is described as a Native American man in his 20s, approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall and thin with thick, dark brown hair. He was wearing a gray Nike T-shirt and blue running shorts at the time.
The Gig Harbor Police Department and Pierce County Sheriff's Office are increasing patrols in the area in response to the incident.
