Police: Woman attacked while walking dog at Highline HS
BURIEN, Wash. -- A 22-year-old woman was attacked by a man while walking her dog on the Highline High School campus May 5, the King County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
The woman told officers she was approached by a man who said his name was Juan around 8 p.m. that Friday. He reportedly asked her for directions to a sporting event taking place on campus, then walked near a tree and came back asking to pet her dog.
KCSO said the woman told the man her dog didn't want to be pet, and she felt uncomfortable at this point. As she picked up her dog and started to leave the man attacked her, grabbing her around the neck and making it hard for her to breathe.
She was able able to free herself and run home, suffering a fractured jaw as a result of the attack, KCSO said.
The woman described her attacker as a Hispanic male in his 20s, weighing around 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes, the woman said.
