Police: Truck thief rams witness, patrol car
SEATTLE -- A suspected truck thief rammed a witness who was on the phone with 911 and an officer's patrol car while attempting a getaway Monday in West Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.
The witness called 911 around 10:20 a.m. to report they were following a stolen pickup truck loaded with landscaping equipment.
According to police, the suspect rammed the witness' car near 53rd Avenue Southwest and Southwest Admiral Way and drove off.
The suspect then rammed an officer's patrol car while driving in reverse when the officer spotted him near California Avenue Southwest and Southwest Morgan Street, according to police. The front end of the patrol car was smashed, and it was left disabled.
Officers finally arrested the suspect after he bailed out of the truck and was found under a house's deck near 40th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Holly Street.
