Police searching for man who allegedly kidnapped, raped woman
RENTON, Wash. -- The Renton Police Department is looking for a 25-year-old man suspected of kidnapping and raping a Renton woman before stealing her car Wednesday.
According to police, Luis Martinez and the 25-year-old victim, who know each other, met at a restaurant in Renton to do paperwork. Afterward, they left in the victim's car.
While the victim was driving, Martinez pulled out a gun and told the victim she would be spending the day with him, according to police. Martinez then reportedly forced the victim to drive to several locations and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
According to police, the victim was able to escape at a Safeway in Kirkland while Martinez was using her debit card to withdraw hundreds of dollars from her bank account.
Martinez, after realizing the victim had escaped, drove off in her car, later ditching it in Tukwila, according to police.
In the meantime, family members picked up the victim's two young children from a daycare in Renton because the victim believed Martinez may try to harm them.
Martinez is now wanted on suspicion of kidnap, rape and auto theft.
According to police, Martinez frequently stays in hotels and travels by Metro bus in southeast or east King County. He has tattoos on his neck, including a red star, and should be considered armed and dangerous.
