Police raid suspected drug house in Mount Vernon, arrest three
MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- Police raided a suspected drug house in an area described as a vibrant part of historic downtown Mount Vernon on Wednesday and arrested three men.
According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, a complaint about drug activity at the house in the 1300 block of South Third Street was first made in February. Since then, more reports have been made about people coming and going from the house, suspicious activity in a nearby alley and lots of different cars parked in the area for short amounts of time.
Officers reportedly observed a number of drug transactions at the house Wednesday before serving a search warrant. According to police, officers found illegal narcotics and cash and arrested three men, one of whom was already wanted by the Washington State Department of Corrections.
The owner of the house, which is a rental property, was contacted by police and told how to fix the issues with it.
