Police name ex-boyfriend 'person of interest' in Kirkland murder
KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Three days after a mother discovered her 28-year-old daughter murdered in a bedroom, Kirkland Police are naming the victim's ex-boyfriend a "person of interest" in the case.
According to police, a resident at the house in the 9800 block of Northeast 130th Place called police Monday afternoon after finding Amy Gang dead inside.
Following an investigation, the King County Medical Examiner determined gang had been strangled. None of her 4 children were with her at the time.
Police aren't naming the ex-boyfriend, however court records show they arrested an ex-boyfriend the day after the murder on suspicion of violating a protection order recently filed by the victim.
Police released the man after prosecutors advised them to do so.
