Police: Man shows up at hospital 10 hours after being shot

SEATTLE -- A man walked into an Auburn hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg Friday morning and said he'd been shot 10 hours earlier in West Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, numerous people called 911 around 1 a.m. Friday to report gunfire near Lanham Place Southwest and Southwest Morgan Street. Despite an officer on patrol even hearing the shots, police were unable to find any damage or victims.

Then, around 11 a.m. the wounded man in his 30s arrived at an Auburn hospital to report being shot earlier that morning in West Seattle, according to police.

Gang detectives are currently investigating the incident.
