Police: Man busted for soliciting sex from detective posing as teen
EVERETT, Wash. -- A man "collecting virgins," according to his ad on Craigslist, pleaded not guilty Monday to soliciting sex from a detective posing as a 15-year-old girl, according to the Everett Police Department.
According to police, on May 14 an Everett Police Department detective responded to a Craigslist ad titled "Collecting Virgins m4w - 45 (Auburn)" posted by 47-year-old Maple Valley resident Thomas Hicks.
The detective, posing as a 15-year-old virgin named Char, exchanged emails and photos with Hicks, according to police. When asked what he wanted to do, Hicks reportedly responded, "I would love to make it real good for youtaking my timemaking sure you thoroughly enjoy yourself."
According to police, Hicks agreed to meet "Char" at an Everett apartment June 14. When Hicks arrived at the apartment, he was arrested.
Hicks reportedly admitted to posting the Craigslist ad, saying he had already used ads to meet up with a couple of housewives.
But, he told the detective at the apartment he would have only "hung out" with her if she turned out to actually be 15, according to police. He said he really meant college-age when he said "younger" in his ad, according to police.
Hicks was ordered held on $20,000 bail.
