Police: Man arrested for lewd conduct in West Seattle

SEATTLE -- Officers arrested a man suspected of lewd conduct Friday morning in West Seattle, but it is unclear if the man is connected to a string of indecent exposures plaguing the neighborhood's schools in recent weeks.

According to the Seattle Police Department, a 17-year-old student was walking to school around 8:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Southwest Thistle Street when she spotted a man masturbating inside a dark blue minivan.

The student ran to school and reported the incident, and officers arrested the man a short time later.

Detectives are interviewing the man before he is booked into King County Jail for investigation of lewd conduct.

Earlier this week, a man reportedly flashed students at Westside School. A man was spotted masturbating in his car outside the school later that day.

On Oct. 2, a man attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl near Hope Lutheran School.

There were three reports of a man exposing himself to students at Holy Rosary School and Westside School in September.

All seven of these incidents took place within four miles of each other, but it is unclear how or if they are related to each other or this morning's arrest.
