Police looking for driver in Bellevue hit and run
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The Bellevue Police Department is looking for the driver it says hit a 20-year-old pedestrian in a crosswalk Saturday evening and left him lying in the rain along the side of the road.
According to police, the victim, a Bellevue resident, was crossing the street in the 15200 block of Lake Hills Boulevard around 6:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car and knocked 40 feet through the air.
The car drove off, and the victim was left against the curb with a serious leg injury, according to police.
Passing motorists saw the victim and called 911, and he was taken to Overlake Hospital for treatment.
While there were no witnesses to the collision, and the victim didn't see the car that hit him, police believe the suspect vehicle is a 2009 to 2013 Subaru Forester Limited based on debris left at the scene.
