Police look for gunman after shooting near Westlake Center
SEATTLE -- Seattle Police are looking for a gunman after a man in his 30s was shot in the face Saturday night near Westlake Center in downtown Seattle.
As shoppers filled the streets downtown on Sunday, Saturday night was a different picture.
According to police, the gunshot victim and a man were arguing outside when another man went up to them and fired several shots at Third Avenue and Pine Street.
The victim was shot twice, including once in the face.
KOMO News talked to shoppers Sunday who just learned about the shooting.
"It's scary but it's all too familiar...it's not something completely shocking to me, which is so sad," shopper Paige Meyers said.
Seattle resident Sam Collin wonders about security around parts of downtown.
"I hear about shootings mostly in homeless areas. I don't really hear about it in shopping areas...so that's a big concern to me," Collin said.
Witnesses have so far not been able to give police a detailed description of the gunman.
The shooting victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in serious condition as of Sunday night.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the homicide/assault tipline at 206-233-5000.
