Police: Intruder wrecks up church, leaves candles burning
SEATTLE -- An intruder damaged property at a Seattle church over the weekend and -- perhaps in a dangerously flammable prayer for the victims he or she just created -- left several candles burning, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, the incident occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 10:15 a.m. Saturday, when an employee arrived at Our Lady of the Lake church in Wedgwood and discovered a door propped open.
Whoever entered the church smashed a flat-screen TV and candle holder, knocked over trash bins and a flag, stole a microphone and left a number of candles burning, according to police.
There were no signs of forced entry to the church, and it's possible whoever is responsible hid inside the church following Friday services.
