Police: Fleeing burglar runs over man with SUV
SEATTLE -- A man fleeing from the scene of an attempted burglary ran over a Hillman City resident with his SUV Wednesday night, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, a number of residents -- one of whom called 911 -- in the 4500 block of South Kenny Street were watching one or two men they believed were casing a neighbor's house around 8 p.m.
While the neighbors reported hearing glass breaking, it appears the would-be burglar or burglars failed to get into the house.
Officers were on their way when one of the men drove off, hitting one of the watching neighbors with his SUV as he left the scene, according to police.
Officers were too late to find the man, and the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are looking for a black man in his mid-20s driving a gray Honda CRV SUV with damage to the windshield on the passenger side. The man was wearing a black hat, black and gray hoodie and black pants at the time of the incident.
