Police: Fanny pack picked on Capitol Hill dance floor
SEATTLE -- A man's dance moves didn't help him steal a girl's heart Monday night at a Capitol Hill nightclub. They did, however, help him steal the cellphone from her fanny pack, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the victim was dancing at a club in the 1300 block of East Madison Street shortly before 11:30 p.m. when a man kept dancing, uninvited, on her backside.
The man eventually stopped dancing and left the club. Almost immediately, the victim noticed her fanny pack was unzipped and her cellphone missing.
The victim and her friend followed the man to 14th Avenue and East Union Street, where they confronted him. According to the report, the man pushed the victim away multiple times when she tried to grab her phone, which was sticking out of his back pocket.
The man ran off when a passerby saw the confrontation and came over to help, and officers were unable to find him.
