Police: Elderly driver strikes, injures teenager in N. Seattle crosswalk
SEATTLE - A teenager was struck by a car and seriously injured Tuesday while walking across the street in the Meadowbrook area of Seattle, police said.
Officers and medics responded to the scene, at NE 105th Street and 35th Avenue NE, at about 1 p.m. after receiving reports of a car striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
The driver of the car, an elderly woman, remained at the scene. The windshield of her car was shattered by the impact.
A preliminary investigation found that the teen was in a crosswalk when hit.
