SEATTLE -- A bomb squad safely detonated some explosive material that was discovered at a South Seattle home Wednesday afternoon.

Police were actually called by the homeowner Tuesday evening that her tenant might be making explosives. Investigators went to talk to the homeowner and did find explosive material in the home, but they don't think it was part of any dangerous plot.

"It appears to be a homemade deal where he was making improvised explosive devices for target shooting so when he would shot his targets, they would explode," said Sgt. Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Office.

The bomb squad was able to safely expose of the material and no one was hurt. West said the 10800 block of Forest Avenue South was evacuated for a couple of hours while the explosives were dealt.

The man was arrested and booked for investigation of manufacturing explosive devices.
