Police: Denied entry, drunk man pepper sprays entire Seattle bar
SEATTLE -- A drunk man completely cleared out a Beacon Hill bar Saturday night by filling it with pepper spray through an open side window, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the suspect showed up drunk to a bar in the 4800 block of Beacon Avenue South around 11:45 p.m., and employees refused to let him inside.
The suspect then snuck around the side of the bar and sprayed pepper spray through a small open window, according to the report.
The owner of the bar was sitting inside next to the window and was reportedly hit by the pepper spray. He later told officers his face was burning and he was having trouble breathing.
He said he ran outside and was quickly followed by the entirety of the bar's customers, who were coughing and choking.
The owner told officers the suspect is known to both him and his customers. Though he did not know the suspect's name, he said he would try to get it.
