Police: Crossdressing bank robber flips getaway car
SEATTLE -- Officers are looking for a crossdressing bank robber who flipped his getaway car following a robbery Thursday morning in Madison Park, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, an armed man wearing women's clothes, lots of makeup and a wig robbed a bank near East Madison Street and McGilvra Boulevard East around 9:15 a.m. and was later seen escaping, possibly with a rolling suitcase, in a silver sedan.
Ten minutes later, a silver Hyundai was reported flipped over a mile away near 39th Avenue East and East John Street. According to police, a man was seen running off with a rolling suitcase.
According to police, officers shot and killed the suspect, believed to be armed with a knife, shortly before noon in the 100 block of 39th Avenue East.
