Police: Chipotle employee injured in hot-sauce attack
SEATTLE -- A 35-year-old man sent a well-wishing Chipotle employee to the hospital for stitches when he bashed him in the face with a bottle of hot sauce Wednesday night, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Witnesses say the suspect was leaving the restaurant at Third Avenue and Pike Street around 7:30 p.m. when a 25-year-old employee wished him a good evening.
For reasons known only to him, the suspect turned around and hit the employee in the face with a glass bottle of hot sauce, cutting the employee's face in multiple places, according to police.
Officers were flagged down and caught up with the suspect in the 1500 block of Second Avenue, finding him covered in hot sauce and bleeding from his hand.
The suspect, Kevin Guzman, was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault, and the victim was taken to the hospital for stitches. Guzman was later ordered held on $50,000 bail during his first court appearance Thursday.
