Police chase ends when suspects crash into rockery

SEATTLE -- A police chase early Memorial Day morning ended when two suspects crashed their car into a rockery in North Seattle.

According to the Seattle Police Department, officers were on their way to reports of a fight in the 10000 block of Aurora Avenue North around 2 a.m. when the suspects reportedly fled in their car.

When officers tried to stop the car, the suspects took off at a high rate of speed, according to police. Officers followed the car until it crashed into a rockery a short time later, injuring both suspects.

The two suspects were taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked -- the driver for investigation of eluding and the passenger for outstanding warrants.

According to police, a handgun was found on the suspects, who may also be charged with violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.
