Police: Burglar arrested with stolen handguns, jewelry, more
ARLINGTON, Wash. -- A 26-year-old burglar was arrested with stolen handguns and $5,000 worth of jewelry, precious metals and cash (less the several hundred dollars he had apparently already spent on drugs), according to the Arlington Police Department.
Officers were called to a business' alarm in the 6200 block of 172nd Street Northeast around 2:30 a.m. Dec. 8. At the time, they found a Marysville man walking in the area with a bag of items but did not detain him.
A few hours later, a business three miles away in the 17800 block of 29th Avenue Northeast discovered they had been burglarized.
Officers responded and found the suspect still in the area. According to police, he confessed to both burglaries and was found in possession of two stolen handguns and $5,000 worth of jewelry, precious metals and cash.
The suspect had already spent several hundred dollars on drugs before he was arrested, according to police.
