Police arrest two men in Capitol Hill burglary
SEATTLE -- Police officers arrested two men early Friday morning after they pried open the door of a Capitol Hill apartment, went inside and came out with a bicycle.
Police say officers spotted the two men in the 700 block of Broadway East just before 6 a.m. Officers thought the two might have been involved in burglaries in the neighborhood.
The two men approached a building near Broadway East and East Aloha Street. The officers got out of their car and walked toward the two men quietly.
They saw the men pry open the door of the apartment. The officers called for backup, and the men emerged with the bicycle.
Police arrested the men, 18 and 23 years old. Officers found stolen mail in one man's backpack. The second man was carrying an illegal, foot-long fixed-blade knife on his hip, police said.
Both men were booked into jail.
