Police arrest alleged impatient bank robber
LAKE STEVENS, Wash. -- Officers have arrested a 21-year-old man who was apparently too impatient to complete a bank robbery back in January, according to the Lake Stevens Police Department.
According to police, Darnell Thomas walked into the Wells Fargo Bank in the 300 block of 91st Avenue Northeast Jan. 3 and handed a teller a note demanding money. But, Thomas reportedly ran off before getting anything.
Officers were unable to catch the robber at the time, but were able to identify Thomas as the suspect during an investigation into the robbery.
"Because of the tips that came into our office by the community, we were able to identify this individual," Interim Chief Dan Lorentzen said in a press release. "This is a good example of great work between the community and our officers and detectives."
Officers on patrol spotted Thomas' car around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday and arrested him. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of robbery.
