'Person of interest' caught after man found dead near Pt. Angeles

PORT ANGELES, Wash. - Following a day-long manhunt, sheriff's deputies have captured a person of interest believed to be involved in the killing of another man early Sunday.

A search was launched for the person of interest after a 51-year-old man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound early Sunday in a residence near Port Angeles, officials said.

Ron Cameron, chief criminal deputy with the Clallam County Sheriff's Office, said the man's body was found in a home east of Port Angeles.

An investigation determined that another man, identified as Patrick Drum, is a person of interest in the homicide. He was thought to be on foot in a wooded area off of Blue Mountain Road and Gellor Road, between Port Angeles and Sequim, said Penelope Linterman of Clallam County Emergency Management.

Hours later, he was found and taken into custody. The circumstances surrounding his capture were not immediately available.
